In case you haven’t seen this, Jim Adams (goldenpony) has been sharing Navy lingo with his “Word of the Day” thread. This is a great and more times than not humorous look at the language of the US Navy.

This weekend was really fun. We had weather here in Georgia that you would normally see over in Oklahoma. Monster sized hail, major ran, and tornados in Atlanta. Just a crazy weekend for that.

ON the building front, I almost have everything I need to start my USS Scott. I still need to strip the paint off my D182 build, lazy I guess. I did get more work done on my Schwerer Panzerspahwagen (Kommandowagen). For some reason, German armored railcars are so interesting to me now.

I am so happy on the college basketball front, UNC won the ACC tourney. The Tar Heels look to be making another run to the final 4!!! Get your brackets filled out and see if you can pick the upsets.

I also am one step closer to finishing the pen for my game chickens. I’ve got 3 hens sitting already, so there will be plenty of little ones soon.

Finally was able to get some bench time, re-starting my PT boat and putty/filling/sanding a pair of 1:700 subs. Spring break this week, I can work out of home most of the week and can sneak in some benchtime, once I finish a list of errands/orders handed to me by CINCHOUSEHOLD Cheers, James

I spent the weekend 500km away from home. Continuing with my company's on and off government contract to improve Ontario's highways. I'm in a pretty secluded area of northern Ontario. My work consists of organizing and supervising drill crews. As most of our work is over virgin ground in swamps, we work mainly in the winter when the swamps are frozen and we can safely access these remote locations.

Enough about work, I was in good spirits this weekend as my favourite sport started it's season, yes Kenny you're not the only racing fan around here! Formula 1 started on Sunday with the Australian Grand Prix, of course I had to watch it live, so I took an evening nap, set my alarm for midnight and watched the race till 2:30am... and then slept for another 3hrs before going to work!

Put a little more time on the bench this week as I m now adjusting to a set schedule. Finally, I've been working 6 weeks and it never was the same. Happy with new position doesn't pay a ton but it sure is easy non-demanding work. Check the trucks in check the trucks out walk the fenceline every hour or so. And the pay off is the Sat and Sun shifts where virtually nothing happens. They don't mind if you read a book then.
