In case you haven’t seen this, Jim Adams (goldenpony) has been sharing Navy lingo with his “Word of the Day” threads. This is a great and more times than not humorous look at the language of the US Navy. Look for the “WOD” News links.

Now is the time in which you can share your news and views. Give us the poop on you latest builds and future projects. Share with us your weekend adventures. We all what to know what you did this weekend. So, sound off mates!

That's all for now from the news desk. Remember, if you can't get to your bench and build, at least you can talk about it.

Hi Guys,

Read an excellent article by some guy called Kenny Loup, had a real neat collection of floaty things

Got a little modelling done on Sunday and havd a visit from my sisters on Saturday who were just getting organised for a trip down the Nile, they should be well on route by now.

Planted some herbs for the good lady and took things easy.

Ahoy Kenny

No modelling but I visited my local shop to get a magazine for inspiration.

Worked on my News Reporter stuff as well.

My E-Boat is gathering dust.

Cheers

Let’s see, I wasted Saturday looking for an affordable 14’ pontoon boat, which nobody had or was able to order.

Made a total fool out of myself playing American Idol on X-box 360 with my wife Saturday night. She won of course!

Went to church Sunday, did a couple or errands, made a nice dinner, and watched a “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.”

I get more building done during the week than I do on the weekend, go figure.

Saturday got the ground ready for my new craft room? area level and ready.i bought a 16 by 80 foot trailer for my craft room/work bench/library.i hope that will be en ought room.once it is set up i have to gut it and do so much work to get it ready to move in.plus i have to build alot of shelves for my books.

i sent a extra kit to a new member who lost everything to help him get back started in the hobby.if anyone has a kit you do not want, let me know i will send you a PM about how to get ahold of him.he is a nice guy,and i think a credit of to the survivability of us modelers.
i hope all have a safe and good week.
cheers,
Bruce

Started up on the 350 Tamiya New Jersey. I had forgotten how easy some of these kits can be since the last 3 were the difficult North Carlina, the Yamato back-date, the Lexington conversion, and the massive Nimitz. I did do the Yukikaze, but that is only a foot long kit.. Only difficulty here was filing the centerdeck piece down to fit snugly btwn the other 2. Got the main gun turrets done. (Not using brass this go around)and some of the superstructure. Will chip away slowly at it as I want to get some WEM paint and I'm waiting for a couple of brass sets to get let loose so I can put a decent sized order into Great Models to justify the $8 shipping charge. That and verify if GM keeps this paint on site or just orders it for you from England.
