By invitation of Rui Matos ,here we show the diorama in which I am working now.
it is the mail Italeri, but I want to do in their natural environment, the sea.
and also in the process of placing the explosive head in the keel of a ship.
So far only built the torpedo and I'm phase of transforming the figures in the anti-aircraft Tamiya of divers in Italian.
This is slow and complicated, but the step very wel

this is the idea for the diorama

and now a question, after searching information, I found this on the hull contruccion based plastic sheeting

Do you think proper?

and lastly, the cross section of the boat build as in this picture, although the curvature of the boat will be less pronounced, with the keel more flat

I wish to thank sized Rui Matos for his invitation and congratulated for having a site so good

Holla Domi e bienvenido a bordo!!

Your project is turning out excellent:
The figures and the idea too.
One thing that you should pay attention on the bilge keels - on the photo of your model section, it appears that they are facing the surface
Other than that, nothing to point out (bad) only good!!

Se necessitares de algo, lo sabes: PM o email!
Saludos de Lisboa,
Rui

Here you have some pictures of the figures and the almost complete
Torpedo with the first layer of paint.
still lacks a lot of work to paint, oxides and wear

Holla Domi!

Gracias por la novidad!
The figurines are very realistic, specially the pose - very dynamic, considering they are sitting on top of a torpedo!

Tiennes aqui mas fotos de um Maiale, del Museo Naval de Venezia:

Here you get a few advances.
the submarine with its crew nearly completed and a representation of the situation in cardboard boat in the aquarium.
Now I'm at the stage of building the boat, started with a few ribs in plastic to unite after the keel and that will be lined with plastic sheeting

You're really bold Domi, I really like your methods
It looks pretty good!
How are you going to paint the sides of the boat the ones that are cut ? just black or do you have another idea?
Anyway, I will be now waiting for your next instalment

I have not yet decided what, I think it will be too dark in black, the sides of the boat I suppose that iran in dark red
Do you think that if I paint in the same color but varying the tone?

Honest? I would have figure the interior of the ship with some crewmen working, like a real cutout
Otherwise, I would use some gradient between red and dark grey.. not black, you're right that would be too dark..

Holla Domi!

The hull looks good!
I also find interesting Jean-Bernard idea - of making the cutaway seeing the crew having some work in the boiler room or something similar, although I understand that more work will be needed!
Also another thought from me, is to make the hull in a diagonal way on the aquarium.... It will break the scene and you'll have more space to work on details that will make the scene richer

That´s a good idea...but a very difficult one to accomplish in such a scale. I´ve taken that idea seriously when building my freighter section, but ended up discarding it. I´ll have to find other ways to break such lines...
The full-cutout scene would also be a great one...but then, one would have to have access to good internal ship plans..something which is not very easy to find.

I like the overall scene. Simple, yet atractive. Tells exactly what you want to tell, without distracting too much....I have to try one of these someday...

On second inspection of Domi's photos, the ship is already skewed in the aquarium (see photo 5 of last installment)
Good job!!

And Chaiça, the best thing is to stick to the plan, right?

No doubt about that !!! I´ve started on the engine room skylight...but that´s another story, and not for this topic.

Keep up the good work domi.

Mon ami JB
Is that builds inside? Do that and put figures ?........... hummmmm. Why not?

at first looks like a formidable job, but just thinking that will be the section below the boat, with a depth of about 10cm and with this separate section for a bulkhead door with his style submarine will not be so much work.
not as precise as the engine area, without any area, I think that stuffed machine (I have a driving force behind Tiger) that can transform look good, too many tubes, boxes, etc. any ladder. etc..

Can someone will have some image of a cross to make me an idea?

Well, here's the interior of a Battleship -see for a start you already have some big steel "border" behind the hull, and then at the middle, you could either put some cabins or some sailors working on the boiler -you could even use some lightning like you did for your C47 and the more recent bus diorama. it could also make a nice light contrast between the guys in the boat (some light maybe a fire coming from one boiler) and the dark (green/cold sea etc), it could reinforce the menace aspect of the italian boat..
By the way my friend -your English gets really better!!

Hello
JB, do not be fooled, my English is
Google translator, my notions of language are very poor (another pending) --

thanks for your plane, because my boat is much smaller believe that the section marked in red enough.

while I make several sketches show you some pictures of finished minisubmarino
(Well, actually I am now changing hands because according to the pilot tell me are very big and I think that is true)

what to include lights tempts me, I will see if they like to hide the battery, wiring and interrupor
for battery and switch would have to go outside the aquarium (or below) to be able to handle comfortably

Holla Domi

The figurines turned out great! I have to agree that the pilot hands look big but not everyone is equal, or "standardized"
From the plan that JB gave, I would slide the red rectangle down, to the bilge area

Continua el excelente labor

Now start the construction of the boat.
currently assembling the skeleton, which will be lined by plastic sheeting where effected welds.
finally the front section leaving the building I see inside the compartment, many pipes, valves, machinery etc.

Domi
