Jose, beautiful work and concept !!!!
I'm gonna try and bribe Rui with a 50 to try and get him to spill the beans on the outcome of this. Eagerly awaiting progress, hopefully you don't build like me and let eons pass on progress - and finish something !!! l.o.l.
The rivit hull would look very sweet, but the welded hull will save some time.
Is this to be a Liberty ship or the improved Victory design ? [ both weld designs ].
Personally I prefer the pre Liberty [ rivited stuff ] but this is gonna be beautiful either way.
Are you gonna arm her ? Make her semi derilict ? Semi sunk ? come on man I'm dying to see where you're going with this l.o.l.
If you need any ref pics on rigging or other stuff let me know.
Artesania Latina makes brass, passable highly usable portholes if you are going that way. See below :

Looking foward to this Jose , and maybe your build will help put my arse in gear to do more work on my stuff.
Good to see this - Glenn

Hi Glenn

I know what the project is all about, but I am not allowed to tell - not even with a 50
I can say though, that the concept is great and it should be a show stopper.... it's all I can say, for now!

Rui

EDIT: I think that the riveted would be sweeter too, but it's not my project! ( again!!!!!)

Oh wow, I had miss the last barnacles instalment. Well well, you're not afraid of showing a barely sea worthy boat it seems Jose
Honestly, I don't have any opinion yet on your "ground cover" bit, i will be waiting for you to paint /weather the carpet monster first - And then i sure share Glenn's curiosity!

Hi

Well, this is going to be a "generic" cargo ship. The idea behind this diorama (here you have it, I said something more about the project...) is to tell a specific story. While I always try to replicate reality the best I can, sometimes I have to take shortcuts. The choice for the type of cargo hull was one of those shortcuts. I always wanted to put my hands on a set of Liberty ship plans, but the opportunity never rose. So I took what I could find...

Another update...this time the engine room skylight...

And took the opportunity to reinforce the superstructure walls...

Next, the funnel, which I still don´t know how to tackle...but I´m sure I´ll figure something out...

Going good José!

Keep on the good pace, you're going there - and don't feel bad on my remarks!

I have some food, fuel, and small arms to ship to England from US to help with the war...am assuming you will be able to deliver a full cargo...just watch out for uboats! Maybe you should build a DE too...naw, not enough room in the average house!
