OK, most of you have known me quite a while. Usually when I ask a question, I ask for the exact information I want. I don't try to be rude or the smelly part of the rear end, but too often I think folks post to just garner numbers or have something to say. So please, please if you don't know the answer don't respond with use this brand or buy this or that.. I know all that and am not really looking to drop $3 plus another $4 or 5 shipping

I use Model Master enamels, I have about 10 or so shades of gray like Gunship gray, Eruo gray, Schwartzgrau. The key point is I HAVE THESE PAINTS. I do not have to order them and pay shipping and waiting for several weeks all for 1 or 2 colors. So the question is real simple

WHAT MODEL MASTER ENAMEL PAINT IS CLOSEST TO KURE GRAY

In light of that, if someone has one of those paint chips could you maybe post the color for me, I don't want to go out and spend $14 for just one color one time.

Thanks gunny. I had tried earlier to get the MM color charts to come up on my computer and it was no go just as it was here. I do have an old booklet that had the enamel colors, so I'll be able to get a match with what you just gave me. A couple of guys gave me suggestions on mix and one car color that were close matches, so with the color chip you posted I should get close enough to keep the "boo" birds away

Hey Steve,
MM acrylic has a specific Kure as shown below....definitely looks lighter in color than most other Kure's though, to complicate matters further...

That is definitely a lot lighter. I have heard that it matches the Snyder and Short chip though. Well great, looks like my choices on colors expanded. I guess this is going to be another which is the best OD (that old can of worms LOL)

I'm going to make my own enamel chip card with about 8 or so gray colors on it andthen match up which is closest. It looks like the lighten up the gunship gray advice was pretty good. Someone also recommeded MM engine gray which I didn't find on my old MM chart, but probaly can find at the LHS in Arlington.

Steve,

I have most of the Model Master Acrylic Marine colors in my arsenal. Let me make sure I have the Kure gray, spray a sample and scan it in. Then you'll be able to match it.

I made my chip card today. I have a dozen diffrent grays so that gives me some flex. I might go out and pick up that engne gray and something else in the midrange or so to augment what I have. I know for sure that gunship, schwartz and Euro are too dark, but there are the dark sea gray, neutral and medium that might just need a touch of one of the really dark ones to match up.

Steve, I also use MM enamels... I have in my notes (have NO clue where I found this tidbit, so take it with many grains of salt), that Anthracite Gray RAL 7016 (MM2101) is close to that shade of gray. I just used it for my PT boat life raft, but looks a tad dark? Engine Gray (MM 2034) is also close....

I should also make my own paint chip with all the MM gray enamels I have .... sorry cant help some more!
