Hi folks. I'm getting back to the hobby after about a 30 year hiatus. I thought I might get my feet wet by building an old 1/48 scale Revell PCF kit I found for a good price recently. While my skills are quite rusty, I would like to try to dress up the old kit some. I've been searching the site and the web for pictures and build techniques that may help me along the way. I had a few questions I was hoping someone could help with.
1. I'm looking for some pictures of the pilot house. I found some on a website that showed a lot of the dash board, left hand table, and right hand radar screen. But what I'm looking for is the back wall, the opening to the gun turret and door way into the crew quarters. I'm basically trying to find out what you would see if you looked into the front window. Was anything mounted on the back wall, ladder to the turret, fire extinguisher, etc?
2. For the PCFs that were repainted olive drab, was this just on the exterior or was the interior painted OD also?
3. Do you know of any 1/48 vietnam era figures, weapons or equipment available that I might use to dress up the old girl?
Thanks in advance for all your help. I've really learned alot while I've been lurking, and I'm looking forward to learning more.

48th armor is just now starting to come into it's own. The fixation is still on WW2. So finding figures and aftrmarket stuff is next to impossible. Check out the Squadron / Signal book "Brown Water Navy" if anything has the pix you seek, it will likely show up there. You will probably have to scratch out your super-detailing

Yes you're right, just about everything will have to be scratch built. I was just kind of hoping. I'll see if I can find the book you mentioned.
Kenny,
The SBSA is the website I've been lloking at the most for info on PCFs. They have lots of info and photos available. However, I'm still striking out on my questions. I've left me questions at the SBSA site and a couple of sites linked to it, so I may get some info later.
Thanks for your help guys.

It seems to me that this school I once attended had some song we'ld sing followed by a chant that included the word yellowhammer. But that was way back in he dark agaes when my blood ran crimson. Oh wait a minute, it still does !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Steve,
Yep you're right. The yellowhammer is the Alabama state bird. IIRC one of the Alabama regiments during the civil war used the yellowhammer as an emblem. Being a good ol' southern boy, that's why I picked it for my moniker. And as for the crimson, ROLL TIDE!
