Model ship builders,
In light of the concern over the fact that Gator’s Paint Masks ship masks do not compensate for the curvature of the hull, specifically the bow and stern, I have discontinued all the ship masks until a more accurate product can be produced.

????
Hey Kenny!
If you can find the hull platting scheme for your subject, you can cross reference with the camouflage painting scheme and make accurate masks.
I know that this will have a lot of effort (mainly research and (most) expenses) but if you can deliver this, than you will not have any issues on "accuracy".
I am using the only mask I have from you and I don't have any issue (it's 1/700 scale for heavens sake!!!)
All the best for Gator Paint Masks
Rui
PS: To who it may concern, I have no commercial interest or affiliation with Gator Paint Masks, other than these two modelers sharing a great love for ship scale modeling and giving their best as being a part of the staff of MSW!
EDIT: And if you can't find the hull platting scheme, you can always make a "reverse mask", meaning: you will have to build and paint the model using photographic references, and from this, make the mask outline, scan, and.... well, I am telling the preacher how to say mess!

Thanks Harry and Rui. I've circled in red what I hope will be the fix.
Unfortunately, the ships with the Mod 12 camo don't have these images.

Bummer Kenny, hope you get it figured out, some of these ships got more curves than a belly dancer.
I haven't tried out the Fletcher Class mask I got, but looking at it and what there is to cover, it looks more like some creative pre painting goes a long ways to side step any problems.
Hope you get a handle on this issue.

Ahoy mates!
Thank you for your vote of confidence. Because of that, I have open sales up on the ship masks again. I have come up with a solution and I am currently working on upgrading the masks. The Buchanan masks will be checked out this weekend. Once it passes muster, I will add "New" to the description. As far as I can tell right now, the major work will be with the larger combatants. I will try to update the masks as quickly as possible.

Put a disclaimer on your current masks until you can "fix" them.
Say something like this:
“These masks were developed using scale diagrams of the ship and may not perfectly conform to some of the ships curved surfaces. Every effort was made to produce masks as accurately as possible. With that being said I am currently in the process of correcting this problem and will issue new masks for ships as I solve this problem.”
You'll get it figured out.

Something to that effect is on my home page. Here's the updated Buchanan...

I just bent things around when I did my NC and IMHO it turned out perfect. Still waiting for the Alabama and the Hornet in 350.
