Good idea fella's and lady.

I have always been a sucker for a good nuke ship or sub.

If you folks don't mind I might just take that bull by the horns and get it running.

hello Jim,
if you want to do the Nuke Ship campaign,i will do the Civil War Campaign.
i was thinking the start for the Civil War starting about July/August 2009 and it running for about 8 months.so the Nuke campaign can start Jan 2010?
remember that WW1 Warships runs till early 2010 and Gator Navy and Predread is running in 2009, so lets not have too many complicated Campaign builds going on at the same time.
what do you think?
cheers,
Bruce

I will consult the Campaign matrix and let you know.

I know Mark had posted it. I will find it and give it a bump.

Upon noodling the Civil War idea some more, I recall that the sesquicentennial starts in
April 2011 (or December 2010 if you want to go back to South Carolina's secession), so maybe that campaign can be timed for late 2010?

The nuke campaign would allow me to dust off one of the (nuclear)submarines in the attic?

Cheers

hey, dont start all the fun without me!

Nukes? Im in, have couple 700 scale subs and the Dragon 350 Typhoon in all its inaccurate glory.

ACW? nothing in my stash

Camo? Yes, I can dig out the Tamiya Fletcher

Home ship? Um, I attended Princeton Univ, can I build the new Princeton CVS or the old CG kits?

Not that we are lacking ideas, but the theme of a "battle" or "area" has come up inthe past, like WW2 pacific or the Falklands....

Im in either way and knock on sprue I can finish all of the GBs!

hello Karl,
i do not think that some of us will want to wait that long.but lets kick it around, how many would want to wait till Dec. 2010 or April 2011 for the start of the civil war campaign.
i will let the members decided. i vote to start the campaign late 2009.i will keep track on the votes,so male members get 1 vote each and female's get 200 each.
just joking the ladies only get 1 vote each.
cheers,
Bruce

hello Jim,
why don't you place the Nuke campaign around Aug.-Sept. 2009 and i get the Civil War campaign started around Feb.-March 2010.that will leave room for a smaller 6 month campaign between WW1 Warships/Nuke/Civil War for cammo or hometown ships.
or we could reverse the order CW then Nuke.
lets try to coordinate our two campaigns so one is more or less ending and the other is more or less starting.what do you think? i am ready to submit the CW campaign this weekend or early next week.
cheers,
Bruce
PS Mark,
i am not taking on to much on myself, not with such great support from the fine staff here at MSW.

If we get a home town in I am going to do the USS Rockford. I was born there and it was 12 miles north of my actual home town. But there was a USS lindenwood as well, a Liberty ship. So, ya never know!

I have some neat ideas for NUKE! I will work on things this weekend and we can get the ball rolling.

I beleive this site is big enough to take 3 x concurrent campaigns and I vote for CIVIL WAR, CAMO, and NUKERS

Peter F

hello Peter,
i was just looking at civil kits and found that Verdiain? company(they make great figures) makes some nice ironclads and a nice 1/72 Huntley submarine and at a good prices.i agree with you that we can do 3 major campaigns at once.i have found enough info for them to submit the nuke and civil war campaigns to start July august 09 for one of them and the other starting Jan 2010.
that would make the start time about a month after the Community Build ends, what do you all think
cheers,
Bruce

I have the Modelkrak 700 scale Merimac/Monitor duo -so, let's go = I knew I bought the kit for some reason.

Camouflage - yes, plenty of the builds I am planning come into that one.

Home town - yes, been looking for a reason to do a WW2 HMS Liverpool, that could also cover the above!

The others are too far either end of my period of interest.

so I would join in for those

Hi Bruce!

You have a good point. If the campaign matrix permits, the CW campaign could be timed to conclude with the sesquicentennial in 2011 so the members can enjoy the finished "commemorative" products.

Anyway, the Arkansas-Richmond project will need all the time I can get!

hello all,
depending on when Jim(goldenpony)wants to start the Nuke campaign,i am thinking either the start of CW as Dec 24,2009 to Dec 24,2010 or April 12, 2010 to April 12,2011.this will give everyone who signs up 1 year to get the build done.
so lets se what Jim decides when the Nuke campaign starts and ends so i can decide when to set a start date for CW.
i hope everyone who wants the Cw campaign, will support Jim's Nuke campaign.i am going to sign up as soon as it is posted.
cheers,
Bruce

hello Jim,
sounds great.the Civil War campaign start Dec 24,2009 to Oct 24.2010.that will give us 2 big campaigns running and allow the cammo or home town ships to start either before the Nuke campaign or after the end of the Nuke campaign. i do not think that the people wanting the CW campaign will wait till Dec. 24,2010.and i think we can pull it off
i wonder if we can talk Rui into running the cammo campaign,i thinks he needs to get involved with the site more, don't you agree
how does all this sound to you?
cheers,
Bruce

hello all,
i am going to put the proposed Civil War Campaign on the backburner for now.with my health problems and way too many campaigns to run and models to build,i will submit it in the later part of 2009.
if anyone wants to do a campaign on the Civil War for MSW,go ahead and do it.if not we will just have to wait another year.
i am sorry i let down anyone who would have liked to do this type of campaign,i just cannot do it now.
cheers,
Bruce
