I know several of you order from them. I placed an expensive order for the Fujimi deluxe brass set and wooden deck for the Kongo. I received notifiication the package shipped on 2 Setember. It is now the 17th. Should I be worried....fire off a where is it or the like to them? Usually I have received orders form China by now....but that is airmail out of Hong Kong, I have no idea how it comes out of Japan other than it was very expensive.

It depends on how you sent it. If you sent it SAL (the cheapest), no worries. SAL can take anywhere from a couple weeks to over a month. I've seen both sides of that equation as I order a LOT of stuff from HLJ. If you had it sent EMS, yeah, that's getting longish...
On a side note, you may be interested in the review I did of Shinsengumi's 1/700 Yamashiro deck. It's not showing up under the front page reviews for some reason, so I think most people don't know it exists...

Hi Steve
Don't worry!
I have used two different shipping methods:
- Via Small Pack: it takes 30 days (usually)
- Via EMS: it takes one week or less
So depending on the shipping method, it will take less or more time. Although I don't know the average time from mail from Japan to US takes, it should not be much different
Cheers,
Rui

OK then, I think I sent it slow boat as I think the code letters started with an S. I was surprized at the shipping cost, now doubly so as I just assumed at that price it went airmail. Wonder why they are 3x higher to ship than China?
Yea Dade, I saw the review. Don't do 700 anymore, but if I did..........
I'll have to give you a coparison when I finally get my deck as I got the Hasegawa version. It says it comes with PE, I'm betting it is to replace the splinter shields you have to trim.

That could be regarding the shields in PE. It may also apply to the rails that have to come off. The deluxe PE set comes with that stuff anyway, but I can see how this works out if the builder just wanted to replace the deck and not get the other stuff.
BTW, you may want to cross shop with Hobby World Japan- sometimes they're a little cheaper or their shipping comes in a little less. The site isn't as easy to use as HLJ as the Englsih isn't native and is done by a translation tool, but it's a decent set up, all told.

Box came in on the 19th so it was 17 days of ship time. All present and safely packed.
