This is probably the same set that came with the Akagi.....3 zero, 3 Val and 6 Kate. If someone has a breakdown on what left in the first wave attack at Pearl (Akagi only) it would be nice to know wha all you needed to get to cover the deck for that. Plenty of decals to cover the aricraft (assuming it is the same sheet that came with the Akagi)

Hey Blaster

According to Tracy Whites Akagi review at ModelWarships .. you need the following for the 2 waves

First Wave: (Four extra sets required)
A6M2 Zero: Nine
B5N2 Kate: Twelve with Torpedoes, fifteen with bombs

Second Wave: (Five extra sets required)
A6M2 Zero: Nine
D3A Val: eighteen

I'm also going for 1st Wave .. for 2 reasons ... 1. More planes ... 2 .. I love Kate .. well I like Val .. but loooooooooove Kate

The precise date of release and prices are yet to be confirmed.

Uhhh Sean they're out. I bought a set at Skyway Model Shop last Sunday for $24.95 retail, but you can get them cheaper from other sources if you don't have a local hobby shop that stocks them.

Thanks for info. Going to have to figure out how to just get some Kates. The thought of an additional $100 for airplanes of which about half won't be used is not to my liking. Maybe one of the other companies will offer pure sets of Kates and Zeros.

Or team up with another, who wants to build 2nd Wave. Then you only need to buy 2 extra sets, and the other one 3 sets ... and you can trade Kates'n'Vals.
