WOW... that was quick!... Me thinks this is going to be a popular one. Plenty of space aboard for more recruits.

Glad that are a LOT of good members wishing to make a good scene/diorama!

I have joined in, and here's my humble contribution (for starters):

Hope that you Frank, agree/accept this banner and the award too
Cheers,

Interesting campaign topic. Since I do not know how to make "water" for waterlne models, I will not actually be participating; but I will be watching with interest to see what techniques are used by the masters (that would be you guys).

Best of luck to all that are participating, and I look forward to your dioramas.

Hi Jim!
hey, I do not know how to make 'water", was the main reason I initially suggested this topic!

Feel free to join in the fun (and learning), you wont be the only one making water (or dios) for the first time; Ill send you a waterline 1/700 kit if you need one, cheers!

Hmmm, I signed on for this little cruise, #13, I don't know if that bodes well or not, but in for a penny in for a pound as they say. Can't wait to see how these all come about.

Gentlemen!
I just signed up!
This is a neat topic! I have one or the other idea already.
Now I have a reason to make all those submarine kits in the stash!
Cheers,
Guido

James,

Thanks for the invite. Maybe I will join up. Takes away from my truck modeling, though.

Thank-you for the offer of a 1/700 waterline kit. I appreciate it. I actually have two in my stash: USS Tiaconderoga (CV14) & USS The Sullivans (DD537). The only two that I own. Maybe I'll pick up another one because I want to enter these in the Falttops Campaign & the Battle of the Philippine Sea Campaign respectively.

How about a truck backing down a ramp to launch a boat?

I was thingking more like Ice Road Truckers where the rig falls through the ice when they talk about how dangerous the road is. Someone already did a dio like that somewhere. In 1/25 scale that's a lot of candle wax!

I had in mind some off-roading where there is plenty of splashing--a challenging effect to pull off...

Sure,... as long as there's a ship on that ice...

Hi Frank!

Yeah, talking with Peter about his Russian predred on ice got me to thinking about the creative challenge of depicting ice accurately in ship scales. How about an Arctic exploration scene? The Franklin expedition (Yikes!) or even Shackelton's Endurance down south?

Teasers for you guys...
From our own Features/MOD's/Reviews:

I have another completely different dio in the making (related, and it is Top Secret so far) but I hope this motivates you to make a snowy/icy ship diorama!

Yep, those are fine examples of ice, and some of them have color highlights!

Can the ship already be completed and one just needs to work on the water base?

If you have to build a ship as well as do the base then I need removed from the campaign. Too much for me to tackle with all the other models going on..
