Hey all!! .........Was with boyscouts and had a sleepover on the U.S.S New Jersey....it kicked butt........anyway.......ths got me thinkin....I bought a tiny little $5.30 miniship by revell and was a fun build...innacurate most likely but a fun build...that was fun so I asked my brother if I could have his ship by Nichimoco a Missouri. He did and I painted and finished it...Now I want to do a couple more ships and was wondering what a good ship to start out on......would like to do a new jersey...

Oh baby!!!!! Go straight for the meat. Get the Tamiya 350 scale Missouri if you want WW 2 version or get the New Jersey if you want something close to the present day. Make sure to get the Gold Medal Models PE set. Easy to build and the kit looks fantastic when completed with a PE set on it. I did the Mighty Mo about two months ago. The 700 scale kits are eral nice if you don't have the room for the large scale, it's close to 3 feet long. Glad to see you're a scout. I am an Eagle with Vigil Honor. Been an adult leader here in Texas for 11 years and 6 years in Germany and Alabama. (4 years in KY as a kid)

Blastwer hit the nail on the head.. can't really add more to that, except the old go get em pep talk. theres alot of pieces to that 350 kit but man it is a fun build. Pictures of the modern Jersey are posted on my link w/o pe and it is still an impressive model.
Have a ball with it.

If you are lucky you cana get one on ebay for under $40. You have to be patient. If not you can get them from Model-expo, Hobby land, or Nauticus Models for around $45 plus shipping. Photo-etch sets run around $40. The only figures available are photo-etch and they can be obtained for around $5-10 for 100 figures.
