Hello Martyn,

And there was me thinking that I was the one that was always looking for odd reference material.

I have had a quick look this morning while waiting for my hot cross buns to become hot and so far all I have found is a photo showing what is reported to be some poor sould washing up in the galley.

This is on page 61 of the book"U-Boote" by Jean -Philippe Dallies - Labourdette.

I will keep looking as I am sure I have seen more some where.

I will state that if any group of people can and will help you its this crew here on this web site.

Good hunting

PeteV

Hang on here is another photo , it`s on page 89 of the booy "U-Boat century" by Jak Mallmann Showell, ok it shows the galley, well part of from a Type IX.

Here we go, try this link, it should take you to a photo of the galley in U995, even got a cooker hood, well I think thats what it is..

http://www.german-navy.de/kriegsmarine/ships/uboats/typviic/u995.html.

Got to go I can smell me buns burning, don`t be vulgar.

You might try the Chicago museum of science and industry. They may have a book on the U-505. I have found that if you get in touch with the right person at a museum You can get a lot of help on a project like this.
