Bought the kit today at LHS and I am very impressed with the quality of the kit

My only complaint is lack of railings in the PE fret, but I cannot complain really.

I am curious as to how I am going to paint the deck and sides. Like how the decks are painted a dark blue, and superstructure is grey. Maybe someone here can give me some hints

Welcome to Model Shipwrights!

There are two different methods to paint the deck.

1. Build in sub assemblies, leaving off the superstructures, and paint the deck. After the deck is dry, attach the superstructure.

2. Build as you normally would and then mask the superstructure and paint the deck.

I hope this helps.

I like the paint the deck then add the superstructure method. Check out at Lucky models by Lionroar US ship railings PE set. Seems it is under $10 and free shipping. Just bought a set of those along with a couple of sets of Japanese version.
