Can anyone identify the ship in this photo?

Japanese, clearly, but beyond that I don't know, I know most of you folks are way more knowledgable about this stuff than I.

Kenny got her right, the Zuiho, but she wasn't that late war. She was built in between Hiryu and Shokaku, 1940-42. That unusual camo is to make her look like a battleship, obviously without much luck.

I figured you guys would know. So... completely hypothetically, of course... if someone were going to model that, what general colors would that be done in? Would it be various shades of brown, or would they have painted the flight deck gray for that?
Seems like that might make an interesting project.

I have seen color mock ups of that. Kenny probably has a set of masks that can do it. Seems I remembr seeing bowns and greens? Would have loved to take the Shokaku kit and do it, but sister Zuikaku was the one and it was later version than the 1941 Shokaku kit that was released.

Yes, the colors are brown, green and black.
Here's a photo of a beautiful 1/700 one.

I don't have the masks for this one, yet.

I get a "forbidden" message when I try to view that pic. I'd love to see it, that sounds pretty awesome. Definitely not your ordinary gray
Thanks for all the info, by the way.

Wow. Seriously? It was that green? That's looks pretty amazing. I'm now oficiialy re-motivated to bring my modelling skills back up to par, that's something I want sitting on my shelf.
Thanks for the picture post.
