An excellent result and I heartily agree with Phil on the smooth build. I am finishing my Repulse diorama and will post pics soon.

Excellent build. Very impressive. I have a question. You mention how the kit had some accuracy issues as far as her 1941 rig. Could you elaborate? Also what method and material did you use for your rigging?

Hi Rodger,
First, the easy question,I used streched-sprue for all the rigging, attached with PVA glue. The main error in the 1941 kit version is in the deckhouse on either side of the "Flying deck",which on my model ,carries the experimental 4" BD turret. If you wish to do the `41 version, these have to be three sided, and carry a single 4" gun.A chap is building a `41 version at this link:

If you would like to see a WIP on my model go here:

Hope this helps a bit,and many thanks to everybody for the encouraging comments, they mean a lot to me
All the Best Phil

Very well presented and nice detail. I love that you did something different and went "1938". Lovely.

Hi Kostas,
These 4" B/D turrets were from the ISW kit of the Queen Elizabeth(BB).I slightly modified them to a squarer profile and added a fume extractor at the rear of the turret.Don`t forget that she carried a Blackburn Shark Floatplane in 1936.This was landed in `37,as it was underpowered. There is a excellent photo of her ,taken in March `36 on the cover of the book" RN in Focus 1930-39",it came in very useful.

All is not lost,Kostas.I got them from a friend in the US,they were left-overs from somebodies build of the QE,and I think he sent 3 or 4.I`ll look in my spares box,and if I`ve got them I`ll PM you.

Cheerio Phil
