Very nice build and great photoes.
I donīt think the weathering is overdone as it gives alot of life to the model.
Where did you get the "Den ensomme Nordens Dronning" title from ? - i have never heard Her mentioned as such ?
Cheers/jan

Lovely job and excellent work on the opening shot too! I love to see a bit of photoshop to show off a model. Can you tell me which kit this is? I'm assuming it is 1/350, right?

Jan,
I had seen the name referenced on a couple of different sites. It was in reference to her being almost exiled to the fjords of Norway. There is even a painting titled Lonesome Queen."
So, I thought it would be a good title for the feature.

The name is very appropiate - my curiosity comes from the translation that seems to be danish while the ship lay in norwegian waters.
In danish its more correct calling it "Nordens Ensomme Dronning" - in Norwegian I donīt have a clue

Jan,
I translated the Norwegian to English and it comes out Den ensomme Nordens Dronning = It lonely North Queen.
If I go backward from English The Lonely Queen of the North = Det Ensom Dronning av det Nord.
I from time to time receive engineering prints from France, Spain, and Germany in their respective language. Translating those into English sometimes provides rather strange results.
So, it just goes to show, always double check the source on their translation.

It's interesting how words can set a tone, I really think reading the title and then viewing your pictures makes the whole thing look colder.
Beautiful work.

Kudos to the weathering, particularly on the superstructure. It really enhances the three-dimensional effect, especially since photography tries to bring it back to 2-D.

Thanks guys for your kind comments...this model was built quite a few years ago when I was experimenting with marine modelling. I was a bit afraid when I was building this lady becaue There are quite a few experts on DKM and had to be very careful, but I enjoyed building her and even though it is on of my first models, it one of my favourites.
Thanks once again and appreciate all your nice comments about my build....I am currently having a go at the Yamato...quite challenging but enjoying it.
Best regards from Malta
