Here is a some pictures of the Captin Kidd that I spent 3 months working on. All the canons took awhile. But Finally I got it done. I didn't do any of the rigging for 2 reason. 1 this is my first ship like this to do, and my instructions weren't the best, and 2 my cat got a hold of half my thread that I had for the rigging. Well anyways. here it is.

I'm not sure of the brand of the model. I'm not at my house to look on the book, I know it isn't a big name company. I bought the model at Hobby Lobby. Here is the link showing the box on Hobby Lobby's website.

Very nice. I see that model everytime in Hobby Lobby and wonder how good could it be. Now I know. I'll have to try making it one day when I'm done with all my tanks. Yeah right, like THAT is going to happen.

I thought the model is a very good model. Took me like I said three months to make it. They have a Jolly Roger there also. I will probly get that one next. That is after I finish my German Flak encampment diorama, and my USS Lake Champlain dio.

I didn't know if the model was gonna be any good or not, but I said hey for the price I can just see. I got it mainly as any intro into sailing ships. I wanted to start with a few cheap model first to get an idea of how they go together before I jump into the wood ships

I think it's a Lindberg kit, fairly cheap, and not terribly complicated, but obviously full of potential,as "adws" proves! I have the Jolly Roger, and intend to do it as a "vanilla" armed merchantman of the 18th century, as soon as I reach her in the "kit pile" (which, at my rate, will be sometime in 2184) Nice work! Regards, Rob

Very nice. I rarely check out the warship area, but now seeing the Captain Kidd I will be back!

Damn fine kit. For 12 bucks makes me almost want to go out and buy one and then I remember. Built a Constitution about that size decades ago, went together easy, so I bought the Revell "giant" sized version. Never did finish that monster. The larger have much more complicated rigging, andthose wooden beasts, well, let me give those folks all the respect in the world. Build several before you decide to shell out $300-400.

Try Model-expo. They have great sales on wooden ships. I have seen some pretty expensive ones with large discounts.
