I'm not sure if this is the place for this discussion but, I've got a 1/48 (at least I think that it is, it says on the box that it's 1/4 scale) scale model of an 80' elco pt boat in wood and white metal (from Blue Jackets). I'm having problems finding any aftermarket parts for this boat to replace the crappy white metal stuff. Espcially the armament (twin 50's and 20mm)
Even some quality screws and other bits would be great. I know that this is a weird scale for this kind of boat. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Mike, "1/4" scale means 1" = 4' ,or 48", usually stated as 1/48. A true 1/4 scale PT boat would be 20' long. You might check the aircraft sites, I know some one makes 1/48 scale .50 cal. machine guns, but I don't remember who. Don't know about the 20mm, but again there might be one available for aircraft models that you could use. I hope this helps a little. Al

Try Track 48 web site. They specialize in 1/48 scale (mostly armor), but they also sell aftermarket details. What you would find useful is a resin .50 cal with photoetch by Hauler. Believe me, it is extremely well done! You might also find other detailing goodies. You will also find turned brass Oerlikon barrels. Take a look!

You might want to check out Italeries 35th scale kit. It ain't cheap, but it is super detailed and if you want you can get a ton of aftermarket for it.
