A Friend of mine asked me to post some Photos of his 1-200 Bismarck here for you to see. It was built over 2 Years from a Subsription from a Newsagent Magazine. I hope you enjoy...Cheers Mark

Hi Kevin. She is plank on Frame with Wood sub assemblies for the rest. Most of the superstructure is Brass with Resin and P/E also. The decks and Barrels are all aftermarket to enhance the details. Here are some more Photos for you to enjoy......Cheers Mark

That is outstanding! I remember buying the very first edition of the magazine in question because it was only $2 or something like that. But i decided not to commit to the series any further. Now i regret it! If i remember it correctly, i believe the model was done for the magazine by Amati.

I'm going to reconsider those magazine models now.

I also built this and subscribed to the same forum (buildthebismarck.co.uk) which is still going and very nice peeps in it with lots of helpful suggestions for us lesser mortals. just one criticism which I raised with the builder, the model is superb, beautifully made, museum standard, apart from the fact that the blast bags are upside down. these were plastic mouldings on which stainless steel sleeves were fitted. (barrels) to me they stick out like sore thumbs.

vindicari,as previousley explained, the blastbags look better this way when barrels are elevated.as the barrels are not glued inside the turrets,i can pull the barrels out, turn upside down, and have the barrels at a lower elevation.

Excellent!, where do you display it? It looks like such a monster. Was this a kit or a scratchbuild?

Maybe this will give us some idea of what we can expect from the rumored 1/200 Bismark supposedly coming from Revell this year! Oh, we can only hope.

I know how impressive Trumpys Arizona was. I thought it was Trumpy doing the 200 Bismarck as well. I guess eventually they will upgrade the 200 Yamato and maybe do a Mighty Mo as well.

It would appear the same company are now doing HMS Hood in the same format:

Not sure how you'd go ordering outside the UK though-maybe check the local newsagents?
