My Dragon 350 Schnhorst finally came in yesterday. I think i pre-ordered this puppy back in early MAy. No matter, I still probably won't work on it for another year. Preliminary look is favorable. Like the brass and the 2 piece main deck. The 700 scale kit that was rumored was not present....(waht was I going to do with that?) I have been so used to everybody doing the lower hull red that i was a bit stunned to see that it was gray. Makes it easier to paint as you will know if you've got it all.Maybe metal tubes, and a wooden deck. For sure railings and ladders

I had my pre-order cancelled so it will be a while before I can get my copy. I was all excited to get it, then life got in the way.

From all of the test shots it does look like a top notch kit.

Well, I guess I did since I got all the test shots and sample kits free.

But seriously, DO NOT PAY $169 DOLLARS FOR THIS KIT!!! I have seen it as low as $114 so please, please, please, do not be scammed by idiots on ebay or other unnamed online hobby stores. Also don't be taken in by people who say the list price or MSRP is in the $170 range, it is only $139.95 currently and that is with the 700th scale kit from dragonusaonline.

I avoid resin kits like the plague. Now resin aftermarket I use....mainly in aircraft interiors. Built a 100% resin kit once. Came out OK, but the sanding andd sanding and no guide pins. Haven't donw a ship in this medium, but as Steve said ....lesss than half p[rice. Patience with 350 seems to be the way to go. If it is reasonably mainstream (Well, the Richelieu) it will eventually come out.

I just got my Scharnhorst in the mail as well. I have to say that I am IMPRESSED with how far ship kits have come. I'm dating myself here, but the last ship I built was Revel's USS Missouri...almost 20 years ago! And I thought that was a big kit!

The level of detail in this kit is incredible! I'm sure PE will only add to it. Looking forward to the build! One of you experts get on here and start with an online build log so I can follow along!

Picked up one at my LHS for just 110USD. I must say it's one of the most impressive capital ship kits I've seen in 1:350. My sole complaint is the mold sinking that occurred on the bow just forward and below the anchor hawsepipe which gives the bow a pinched look.

Otherwise, a brilliant product. I for one cannot wait for DML's CVL and Pennsylvania in 1:350!

It's CyberHobby, a subsidiary of Dragon.
