Hi
I am planning a build of a 1/350 scale 1945 IJN Yamato I was looking at the Tamiya kit as base start and then upgrading it with the Lion Roar photo etcth kit and a wooden deck.
I was also looking at getting resin or plastic high detail resin or plastic parts for the triple, single and double 25mm unshielded machine guns and the 12.7cm Type 89 AAA batteries.
I have had a look at various sets and Veteran models seem to offer the best ones. However i would like the hear the thoughts of you out there in the community. Here is a list of links to the kits i was looking at getting:

I know that this one is 'discontinued' but i was wondering if anyone else knew where i could get the kit.
Thanks

I just finished that same project with exactly the same stuff, and I recommend everything you chose .....except the extra turret kit (there's nothing in it you'll need, lionroar set provides better blastbags, AA tubs, etc), same thing for the searchlight kit, and the Ship Equipment Detail Set A. Those parts are mostly redundant if you already have the lionroar set. my build using those same kits: http://modelshipwrights.kitmaker.net/forums/173316&page=1 Have fun! I did!

thanks for the advice, thats a impresive build you have there. You wouldnt happen to know of any sources that have accurate bluprints of the yamato in her 1945 fitout. Also are there any other upgrade kits you can reccomend that would improve the level of deatil on the model?
thanks
thanks
