My name is Daniel and I am an active member of IPMS Uruguay.
Some time ago that I visit this magnificent site and follow attentivly the works of all you, lamentably for my I found Julián's post " Destroyer Fletcher class " when I am in the completions of my destroyer.
It wanted to share the process of armed with my model … ….. Revell 1/144 who buys in 2008 in a trip to Bs As city . The PE are a full set Eduard bought in Scale Models and Parts route Internet and painted with acrilyc paints Model Masters
Personally I like to represent my models in operative condition

Daniel, very nice work. I have that kit in the stash. Love the oil canning on the hull. I wish I had the time and talent to pull that off. Looking forward to your next updates.

Updating a bit the post.
I comment to them that this Fletcher Class the present thing in IPMS's annual contest Uruguay in October and I gain the Prize in his category and it was winning as better work of 24 exhibition
This was a great happiness for my!!!!
Also pipe the " special mention " to better model rewarded by the friends of IPMS Atlantic Coast (Argentina) that also they informed of the contest.

Test the painting of the hull....

Looking very, very good. I love the weathering job on the hull. Definitely makes her look like she's been at sea for a long period of service without maintenance. Impressive to say the least. Making me really anxious to get started on mine, though there's no way she'll come out looking as good as yours!

Daniel, your weathering and detailing work has attained realism. May the rest of us aspire to even come as close.

Daniel, I think you work on Fletcher is truly outstanding. I'll be happy if mine turns our half that good. I think all of us tend to be unduly harsh on our own work, but I can find no fault on yours. I really like the way you opened up the davits. Very nice and adds a real touch of realism. I'm sure that took a good bit of patience and skill to accomplish. Keep up the great work and I'll be looking forward to your next updates. I think when you are done you are going to have a real show stopper.

From the looks of all the "RUST",I'll bet the CO is embarassed to put into port.I don't think too many ships got this bad !!! I served on a Fletcher Class and our 1st Div never let rust get a hold of our ship !!
Nice job on your build.

I particularly admire the salt staining and splotching of the red--that's what it really looks like on active ships.

Thank you . Lee .... as always I say this one it is my humble representation where the exact copy does not chase of one photos royal ... it is not my interest eitherObserved many images of noses in this very punished and different frame of operations newly painted ... I suppose that in plenary session it fights removed from ports friends, in hot and salty waters his condition not serious of exhibition In this one of 451 in B&W and distantly one notices in the band a few brands.....

A good friend donate and send me from France a very interesting book " 1941-1945 US Navy in couleur " Excellent pictures I recommend to see it before
I share one with you

The topic of the wear is an eternal discussion between the modelistas. I consider that the freedom this of the modelista over everything.
