Well, a nice big box from Amazon came in the mail today, and much to my wife dread, they were model kits

I now have the Tamiya 1/350 IJN Yamato, the Dragon 1/350 USS Independence CVL-22, and the Cyber-Hobby 2 in 1 1/350 USS Yorktown with Alfa Class Submarine

Any ideas on where to get some aftermarket items for the Yorktown? I think I remember seeing a detail set for a Ticonderoga Class Cruiser, but I am not sure.

I want to get the Lion Roar set for the Yamato, but that might be a long while from now

Wow, it sounds like you sold the kids to afford that

A good place to look for aftermarkets are Freetime Hobbies or White Ensign Models.

Found the PE set! Thanks so much

Looking forward to building the Alfa Sub, only because I am such a huge fan of books like Red October and Blind Man's Bluff

Speaking of new ships, I just got two 1:350 Dreadnoughts from my LHS: the moldings look great and the layout matches my 1:350 drawings perfectly. And, I LOVE the heavy gauge cardstock box with the flip top lid--they'll make great spare parts containers. I hope that box design becomes industry-standard.

I want the HMS Dreadnought, and it's upcoming PE set

But after this purchase, I won't be buying models for a while. With the Air Force sticking me in California, most of my money is just disappearing in sales tax and gas money

Yes, Fujimi is coming out with a Hiryu. Look at the warspite review, its a good kit.

Plenty of new 1/350 kits coming out.

As far as I know, only Fine Molds is doing an IJN DD. I have their newest one to review. Dragon is doing an Atlanta class cruiser. Trumpeter the QE class. And a project or two I cannot discuss.

If both Academy and Fine Molds bump their machinery up just a little they start to give Dragon a run for thier money, but that is only my opinion.

Ya know...I could have sworn I heard that Dragon was releasing USS Pennsylvania too. Is that happening this year? I know I've seen the CAD drawings of the model somewhere. When is the Atlanta class coming out? Ugh...I need a bigger house!

I keep forgetting about the Pennsy.

There is hope Dragon will use that hull for some of the other BBs, Arizona.

I'll definitely second that, except for the M/V Savannah, and only excepting that because I'm a warship guy.

Shame to go there now, the Yorktown looks like she is dying

Does anyone know where I can get the Lion Roar Super Set for the IJN Yamato?

I tried Sprue Bros, Great Models, Lucky Model, and Freetime Hobbies and no one has it in stock
