That is a change of venue Mardis Looks suspiciously like a mold instead of a scratch build too It will be interesting to follow this build.

You're not kidding--compare the Tamiya Tirpitz to the Dragon Scharnhorst--and to think Tamiya was top-of-the-line in the 1980s!

Whoa! Tamiya just announced a 1/350 BB-62 New Jersey!

I believe that is just a re-issue of the modern NJ with a little added PE.

stuff came in the mail yesterday.

Now that I am retired this will be my next project in waiting. After the carriers of course!

For all its years in, Tamiya's 1/350 Missouri kit is still a very good starting point - and it will be fun to see an Iowa class in blue and with NJ's curved bridge too!

I too will be watching this build with interest.

I normally just "lurk" on here and admire everyone's work, but in this case. as a former crew member (Apr89-Dec 90), I felt obliged to comment...looking good so far (hope all went well with your surgery too!)!!!!
I was wondering what year you were going for? The main difference (besides the AA and radar configuration) in the bridge open (initial) round bridge (most of WW2) and square (post WW2) ? Keep up the good work!!!
