I think the Dive II sould be opened up to any scale. I've got a 1/144 kit I plan to build.

A bit late, but my vote goes to 1 and 5...

I'm in for the sub campaign, it's been ages since I have done any modelling.
Unless you count looking at my stash and buying new stuff as actual modeling.
I have a 1/72 VII sub ready to go...

Hello All,
It will be Dive Dive Dive 3 Campaign. I think that the scale limit should be 1/35 to 1/350. does that shoud OK to all of you.
Cheers,
Bruce

Bruce I think the scale should be any thing up to 1/35 there is a lot of stuff on the market in the smaller scales which will mean that more crew members will probably be able to get them finnished on time instead of like me having to ask for an extension all the time

I agree with Keith to propose to accept all scales for Dive Dive Dive 3.

I agree with Keith & Bjorn, leave the scale open, thee are some great kits out there across the board, whilst I prefer the larger scales, I admire those who produce minature masterpeices in 1/700th & smaller.

Maybe it won't hurt to rule out 1/1 scale, just to be sure , before somebody comes up with a bright idea...
"No darling, that thing in the garage is really a model, look, they even accepted it on model shipwrights...."
"Care for a dive?"

Hello All,
OK, I give in.
How about this: 1/4 to 1/700 scale. That is as High as I will go and as low as I will go.
Is that all right with all of you.
Cheers,
Bruce

From the list I'd have to go with 1 and 5 as my first choices. I've got a couple of subs and cruisers in my stash that would be nice to finally build!
Just to pitch an idea of mine (and I really hope you don't mind) would be a nostalgia campaign. Basicly taking a classic kit of the 60's through to say mid 80's and building it as is, straight from the box. A number of these nostalgia campaigns have been very succesful over on Aeroscale and Armorama. Take a look at the Ancient Airfix and Matcbox AFV campaigns, they've got a lot of people signed up. The great thing about a campaign like this is it lets us get back to basics, maybe learn a few new finishing skills, see how far kits come since then, and more importantly have fun without getting bogged down with details or accuracy. The scope of different ships from the likes of Airfix, Revell, Tamiya, Matchbox and others would let everyone do whatever takes their fancy.
Like I said, its just an idea.

There are plenty of reboxes for the kits that were originally released in the 70's, so there should be plenty of material out there for modelers to enter into such a campaign.

And in a lot cases many of those old kits are still our only choice!
I think the only 2 ship kits in Airfix's catalogue not released after 1970 are the new HMS Invincible and Daring. And much the same with Tamiya, every ship kit of theirs I have is dated in the 70's. Revell is also doing a lot of Matchbox repops, although they have yet to treat us to the much sought after Exeter.
The sheer number of different subjects available in older kits would make a nostalgia campaing very interesting to be a part of. Everything from sail to cold-war warships and even tankers, liners and tugs!

Hello Stephen,
There is a Ancient Airfix Campaign going on in the Modeling in General Forum right now. It might have what you what to do with the idea you have brought up here,
Cheers,
Bruce

cheers.
I'm, already signed up for that one. I'm doing the 2001 Pan-Am shuttle.
Its where I got the idea from to be honest. I just wanted to put it out
and see what everyone thinks. Anyway, I'm up for the subs campaign when
that starts!
