Hello All,
With Scrapa and Ironclads ending in December 2012 and the only campaign opening is Enterprise 1-1-13, Any ideas for some new campaigns?
I have a couple:
Greyhounds of the Seas
Destroyer campaign 1900 to present day

Battle of the Atlantic
1914-1918 and 1939-1945

Naval Battle for the Solomon Islands
to include the battle for Savo island

Battle of Leyte Gulf

So do any of them sound good. Each will run 6-8 months.

Let me know,
Cheers,
Bruce

Bruce,

I am intrigued by "Greyhounds of the Seas", though could use some more light into it...

On the other hand: this may very well have been proposed before, but I would also throw in a "Harpoon" campaign - basically any late cold war stuff from the two blocks - from the old wargame classic.

Furthermore, there seems to be a somewhat cross-site interest in "movie stars", either real or fake, which could be another idea.

Hello Frank & Nicola,
Greyhounds would be any Destroyer and DE from any era.

I know that there was a Famous Ship (Real or Fiction) Campaign in the last few years. You can always start a new one.

Leyte Gulf is very interesting Battle. It had the Japanese Super ships in it, Plus the "Taffy Group".

I am hoping all the members will chime in and either suggest a campaign for help make a decision on the ones I have listed.

On Harpoon, I am not sure if everyone knows about the game. You will have to explain it so the members can judge if you want to do that campaign.

Cheers,
Bruce

Hi Bruce,

Leyte Gulf, Greyhounds and Battle of the Atlantic all sounds good to me... mainly because I already have something to build for each of them!

However I must confess I am not too sure if I have the time to commit to any of the campaigns... us folks here in Singapore are all workaholics!

Regards
Lawrence

Any interest on a Submarine campaign? It has been a while since one of those was done.

I was just going to suggest a submarine campaign. I have a 1943 Gato waiting to be built, and might actually have time to do it. AFV Club subs are on sale right now online. Might be a good reason to grab one.

Hello All,
I am up for a sub campaign. I think it should be 1914 to present time. That will give a large area and era's to build from.

So, Who wants a Dive, Dive, Dive 2 Campaign to start 2-1-2013 and run 6-8 months.
Let us know,
Cheers,
Bruce

I was just thinking about a sub campaign as well, you know what they say about great minds

I'm definitely interested in a Leyte gulf campaign. They all sound good.

While we're on the subject, I know that modern vessels are not exactly what most people would describe as attractive, but has there been a campaign dedicated to them yet?

There is a radio station by me that has a rule. If three people in a row request something they play it.

Leyte Gulf would actually be Leyte Gulf II, they did one of those right at the time I joined MSW. Not that squeals are bad.

I am up for what ever is decided.

Hello All,
How about this:

Dive 2: Starting January 1, 2013 Ending June 30, 2013. A 6 month campaign .

Leyte Gulf 2 Starting August 15, 2013 and Ending March 15, 2014. A 8 month campaign.

Maybe Greyhounds of the sea starting May 2013.

Will That work for all of you.

If so I need 4+ more for the Dive 2 campaign So I can submit it to myself.
Cheers,
Bruce

Would definitely be up for battle of the Atlantic, both wars, submarines, and destroyers, some good ideas happening.

Greyhounds of the sea, are you talokg liners Bruce, or any fast ship civil or military?

Hi Bruce you can count me in on the Dive 2, Greyhounds and Atlantic builds as long as they do not overlap each other

I am on the mend after my foot surgery. I am still slow an will not be on the site every day till my Do0c gives the Ok. I should be back FullTime in 5 days or so.
Then In about 4 weeks I have the same thing done to my right foot.

Hello All,
It looks like Dive 2 is the winner of the first campaign of 2013.
I will set up the outline of the campaign in the next few days here on this thread for all of you for suggestions.
Cheers,
Bruce
