I need some help in finding plastic models for the following types of surface ships or a site that provides numerous types that I can look up. any help would be greatly appreciated;

Scale 1/350 or larger - Adams Class Destroyer, Know Class Frigate, Iowa class BB, Sturgeon Class Attack Submarine and a Haskell Class Attack Transport.

Scale 1/700 of larger – Bogue class Escort Aircraft Carrier and a Fulton Class Sub Tender

(Larger being 1/350 or 1/700 to 1/35) (1/35 Iowa Class that would be a model) You get the idea.

I’ve found a couple but they are usually smaller size or already constructed for your enjoyment. I am constantly searching but am having problems finding Plastic and not resin or museum quality completed.

I feel the need to explain myself a bit. I usually build USMC armor WWI, or Dioramas for specific historic WWII instance. Generally I noticed that everyone now is making a “Somewhere in the” model or diorama thinking that in saying that it leaves a lot of room for glaring errors in their work, reference wise. So way back when I first started making models they were of the water type, (I think I made every scale of the Titanic at least once) and also that I spent some time on a couple of these ships (all but 2 of them) I thought I’d move back for a change. Whole new way of construction and finishing I know but it’s a nice challenge.

Thanks for looking and for any help provided.
Bob

Tamiya did a 1/700 USS Bogue and the 1/350 New Jersey. Trumpeter was supposedly doing the Iowa class in 1/350 but there is no release yet that I know of. Academy makes a 1/350 Perry class, but no Knox class as of yet. Looks like a good set of additions to the model ship wish list.

Hi Russ,
Thanks, I want to do all of these but of course the old pocket book is not that deep.
I'll see if I can find one of the Bouge or Perry class Ships first than.
Thanks,
Bob

1/700 Bouge is too small, The Knox class I can't find.
Dragon has a 1/700 Adams class which is way too small.
Bear having cubby fingers.

World war 2 version of Iowa class is the Tamiya 1/350 Missouri

A lot of times you can pick this or the semi modern version (New Jersey) up for a reasonable price on ebay. I think I got my NJ for 35 - 40 bucks with shipping

Steve,
Thanks, looks like I'll give that one a try, WWII version.
All the rest seem not to exsist or are way too small.
Thanks again,
Bob
