Seems that Revell has announced a Type IX in 1:72!

The USS Hornet in 1/350 is good new too. And if the produce the ship in the picture even better.

real excited about the type IX but then scrolled a bit further and saw the angle deck Essex class in 350 now that is also great news

Trumpeter did the Hornet so many years ago in 350...I still have one in the stash...so lets hoe it is the angle deck version

A Type IX in 1:72!
That goes into the same "It's-About-Time-What-Took-So-Long?" file as the 1:32 B-25 and A-1 Skyraider.

Revell has a very nice looking lineup mixing some old and new for 2013. I'm just a bit sad that some of the best looking kits won't be released until later this year.
