Back again.
These blast bags just don't look right to me..
Not sure what I am going to do to fix them though..
Wooden deck applied.
Best fitting wooden deck I have used.
Until next time, same bat-time, same bat-channel,
Cheers
Warren

If it turns out as well as your Takao I will be happy.
Where did you get the brass strip you used on yours? I dread painting them..

I have to say I agree with you Warren-those blast bags definitely look a bit odd. Turned side on they'd look like a pair of leotard wearing legs hanging out the end of the turret I'm sure you can work your magic though and sort them out!

I am glad someone has confidence in my abilities!
Thanks Russell. I may have to throw money at it to make the problem go away and that is not the idea with this build... yet..
cheers mate

You are 3 quarters of the way there and she is looking beautiful Warren.
File off those rather huge protuberances and then put some putty on top of the barrel all the way to the edge of the turret barrel aperture. You can't loose mate
Go on, go for it
Gorgeous build Warren,
Julian

I had a look at some photos of the actual thing (!) and I came up with an answer that may work. It was still drying yesterday and I will have a look at it a bit later.

I am but an assembler compared with you two artists.
This was an excellent build with the only real hassle being the railings at the end which have been generalised a bit to fit any ship in the class (Kongo, Kirishima, Heie, Haruna etc).
I have the Fujimi Haruna in the stash and it will be an interesting contrast to this one.
Fit etc of this one was almost perfect and many parts acted just like snap together parts. Once put in place they just don't move.
I re started the Z-30 yesterday and will get some pictures up soon.
Cheers
Warren
