Now I am not trying to be a smart alec pr anything, but did you lknow that Trumpeter make a 1/350 Enterprise with the beehive island? I have one sitting in my stash at the moment. It only cost me $38 brand new for the complete kit. I am more then willing to help you out if you need any.

Mardis
Damm!! I just won that kit on ebay yesterday ($61 with free shipping)so if you need any help I can work with you on it. I am sure what you produce will exceed the kits offerings but after I get it you can make a mold or something if you wish.

Hello Mardis.
I did not see the post saying your brother had passed away. Very sorry to hear but I am sure he is in a better place now.
Back spasms are a bad scene as well.
Take it easy, the beehive can wait. I now have two CVN-65s waiting my attention, one beehive the other a later model, both of the el cheapo ones. Can't afford the Tamiya one.
Have a beer or two on me
Cheers

Hey brother take care of yourself. I've had a few days of back spasms myself along with a sciattica recently. That is no joke so take it easy and get those muscles to let loose

Does anyone know when they changed the island from Beehive to square? From what i have found it says she underwent refit to accomodate the F-14 in 1973. I am still going to take my F-4s, A7's and A6's from my Nimitz and put them on her and the f-14 and f-18 I bought for Enterprise on the Nimitz

Around 1980 I think Steve. That is when the early phased array radar was replaced.

One had nothing to do with the other. The main change when the F-14s were introduced was the enlargement of the blast deflectors, well that was what you could see externally anyway.

Had mine taken out 2 years ago. Operation went bad and they had to slice and dice me instead of laproscopic. I was in hospital for 3 days now that was NOT fun. You are now gonna have a lot of stomach acid so get a good deal on bulk antiacid stuff.
