I would love something like this. Just wish I had the skill to pull it off.

Hmm, a four foot long Hornet...I wonder if they corrected the thick bow issue from the 1/350 outing?

Looks like trumpy is starting to push the 200 scale market. Wonder how many more they will do. I got the Arizona (for $100) skipped the Bismarck. Will skip the Hornet. But throw me a Mighty Mo and an updated Yamato...and I'll bust the budget.

I hope Trumpeter completely redid the hull rather than simply taking a pantograph of that awful, inaccurate hull from their 1/350 kit. If the hull hasn't been corrected I won't bother.

Too big for me. Wish they would release more 1/350 ships like HMS Ark Royal from 1941 etc etc. I can fit a large number of completed 1/350 ships in the same space as one 1/200 ship. As Julian also typed, imagine the price of the PE sets for this one, especially if you are doing the Dooloittle raid with lots of B-25s..

it has been said that the hull has been fix. don't know if that is true or not. http://www.boystownmilitaryminiatures.com/MERITTRUMPETER_1200_USS_HORNET_CV-8_AIRCRAFT_CARRIER_SPECIAL_OFFER_PRE_ORDER_JUNE_/p1144420_9448480.aspx

Another really big box (remember, we still have the 1/72 Type IX U-boat coming as well)--I already have four 1/6 M4 Sherman boxes in the hallway blocking the door to the spare bedroom!
