I dont expect anything new in 1/350 scale from Tamiya, they are putting all of there investments into 1/700's. But I do look for good things from Trumpeter and Panda, It seems like they are listening to what us modelers want. There is rumers(only Rumers) that Trumpeter is planning a 1/350 USS South Dakota Battleship kit. This would make me very happy, being that it is my favorite Battleship! Please let it be true!
My wish list would include new Battleships and Cruisers. A USS North Carolina, a HMS Hood of course! A RN Littorio BB, USS Indianaplis CA, IJN Nagoto or Fuso BB's, IJN Takao CA. Oh do I have to stop? Oh yes, all in injected plastic.
There is alot of room for new kits and I'm sure, alot of buyers.
So what is in your wish list ?

Cheers,
Garry

I agree with you on this Gary. I would love to see some new 1/350 ships as well. My list is small but here are the ones I would love to see.
1/350 USS Massachucetts(South Dakota Class)
1/350 Uss Salem (Detroit Class Cruiser Class)
1/350 Uss North Carolina (North Carolina Class)
Now while typing this I had a thought. Maybe if they put out a South Dakota or a North Carolina they would include a conversion to be able to do the Sister ship of that particular class.
I.E A South Dakota Class ship with options to build either ship or a North Carolina Class.
I know it is a stretch but hey isn't tha what a wish list is?
Will be watching Trumpeter and Panda more closely from now on. Thanks for the Head up.

I would like to see some British WW2 carriers in a larger scale. Heller used to do an Illustrious class carrier in 1/400 but they are extremely rare now and the only one I have seen on eBay went for much more than I could afford.

Let's see in 1/350 injection plastic NOT resin, I'd like a HMS Hood, an Atlanta class CL, HMS Hood, a Portland class CA, HMS Hood, a Dido class CL, HMS Hood, in fact one of every major class of US and British cruisers, HMS Hood. Oh yeah, did I mention I'd like a GOOD 1/350 plastic HMS Hood in 1941 rig?

In 1/72 I'd like to see a really good British MGB and a US PT boat, something from Revell of Germany maybe to go with their S boat.

Finally a HMS HOOD!!!!!

Are any manufacturer reps reading this out there?

I agree with you on the Warspite! And I will add, not only for the UK, but she was the most successful Battleship in WW-2 (in combat). It is to bad she was not saved for her Honers as a musium.

DOH!!! How could I have forgotten that grand old lady HMS Warspite? Along with Enterprise she had the greatest fighting record of any ship in WWII, and when you consider her record at Jutland she's GOT to be the battleship with the most impressive fighting record of all time.

Both the Americans and the British should be ashamed of themselves for sending both Enterprise and Warspite to the breakers yard. At least Warspite had the last laugh, breaking loose from her tow and running herself aground so they had to go get her on the spot to break her up. Like the grand old lady she was she "didn't go gently into that good night."

Well, with future released of the Saratoga and Nimitz planned, I am pleased with the start. I want an Alabama version of the SD class and of course the good old NC. How about a good old clipper bow/ cage mast BB? With the right add on /conversion parts, you could do most of the Pearl battlewagons. They could add the Hood, Akagi and one of those Italian beauties too. And some crusiers, DD's How 'bout an Attack cargo. Oh christ now you've got me started. Just get me what you promised then get some others in the works later.

I build both 1/350 and 1/700, but prefer the latter scale.

For 1/700, my wish list would have to be:

1. Modern USN auxiliary vessels (Id like to build a complete CVBG)
2. US Coast Guard Cutters (Hamilton, Bear, etc.)
3. Modern USN Amphibious vessels (Newport, Whidby Island, etc.)

Hi,

I would like to see 1/350 scale, injected Brooklyn Class Light Cruisiers (to build USS Nashville), and the 1941 versions of the USS battleships, other than Arizona/Pennsylvania.

As many American Civil War ironclads, from both sides in a larger scale. Probably not a seller - but there was a lot of interest in teh discovery of the USS Monitor and the recent raising of the CSS Hunley (a submarine - 1st sub to successfully sink another ship).

I would love to see someone come out with some Canadian ships for a change. There may not be much of a market for it, but I'd love to build an Iroquois or City class. Even some of the corvettes from WWII would be nice.

One section of warship kits that is really poorly served is British WW2 submarines. When you consider the success of the U,T, and S classes in the Mediterranean cutting Rommel's supplies it is a shame that they don't seem available in injection kits.

I agree, we need to have models of British Submarines. And also more WW-2 British surfice ships. HMS Warspite, Malaya, Cruisers and destroyers. The WW-2 British fleet saw more action then the rest of the Navy's, and they are poorly represented in model kits! Its a shame. Lets hope somone here's our cries!

I just picked up a 1/72 Revell HMCS Snowberry kit. It is HUGE, but if you are interested in a corvette, this would be the way to go. There seems to be a bunch of aftermarket stuff for it as well so you could superdetail the hell out of it if you wanted.

I'd like an affordable 1/350 K.M. Prinz Eugen to go with my K.M. Bismarck.
Also a 1/350 K.M. Scharnhorst. (What a fine-looking ship.)
And any WWII Japanese aircraft carrier.

A plastic 1/700 Long Beach. I'd also want Trumpeter to release a contemporary 1/350 Nimitz CVN because I really want F-14 and F/A-18's on the deck. I know that one is coming, but I'm only aware of their 1975 version release date. #:-)

1/350 Forrestal class!!! (Trumpeter please listen!!!!)

also...
Revell (? I think) recently released a 1/72 scale U-boat - hmmm I have a 3 foot Leopold railgun, where the heck to put a 3 foot U-boat....
BUT- It'd be nice if someone released a nicely detailed large scale Gato class - something around 1/144 or 1/200 maybe. All that's available is an older Revell (?) Gato class that needs resin updates to make it look halfway decent....

oh, and I also want.......
1/350 Forrestal class!!!!!!

In 1/350, Definitely the USS North Carolina and Warsprite. A WW II British Carrier might also be in order. I would also like to see Cruisers of WW II.
US Navy _ Wichita, Baltimore, Boise, Brooklyn, Saint Louis Cruisers
IJN - Mogami class Takao class Myoko class
I think Trumpeter should do these. They are on a Soviet ship "kick" right now. I would really like to see these big scale Battlewagons done. Some of these really showed their stuff in WWII and have not been well represented :-)
