These proceedings are closed!

The airplanes are built, painted, and decaled. Dollys for the planes are built.

The planes are on the ship.

I will post a few more images in a few days but otherwise, this build-review of Aoshima's Chitose kit is complete. One change to the ship is that I noticed transverse bands between the aircraft handling rails. HA! said I, those must be the bands separating linoleum anti-slip, so I painted them with linoleum color. Then I noticed that is how Aoshima painted the display model on their website.

Just a bit of touch-up of the airplanes remains. Otherwise, I hereby launch Chitose!

Thank you for following. I hope that my build will make your's more enjoyable.

Awesome work Fred. Will you be building her into a seascape?

We've got a model show coming up near me this weekend and I'm hoping to bag a few bargains. I'll keep my eyes open for one of these.

Mark; Stephen,

Thank you. All in all it was a fun model. Those little airplanes gave me fits but I like the way they look and will be ready for them for the next model!

One thing I am dissatisfied with is that the bridge windows are not dark. I thought they would be so I did not paint black behind them. I am contemplating trying to wash india ink behind the clear windows.
