Hello Michael,
Great choice for your build. I am looking for the Scleswig-Holstien which had the "Honor" of shooting the first shots of WW2.
It will a resin model most likly, I am hoping for a plasic kit that I can convert to her.
Cheers,
Bruce

sorry to hear about your heart attack Bruce, hope you are well on the mend. Take it easy man.
Have been digging in the stash and found a WEM HMS Gloworm 1/350th in the loft, so that is plan at the moment.

Bruce – Hope for a speedy recovery mate!
Michael – Look forward to your Mirage ORP; have couple of that series in my stash.
I may enter a pair of pocket battleships, Fujimi 1:700 Deutschland and Admiral Scheer. I barely started working on them like 4 years ago. Will take some pics and post for approval, make sure they are not too far along. I also have to check that the kits are in 40/41 configurations and not the earlier Spain Civil War states.
Cheers

While doing some research surfing I came upon this site about the US Merchant Marine during war time.
It was stats from all wars that cost the USMM from the revolutionary war to Vietnam.
I was looking at Revell T2 and C3 kits for future BOA builds and one link lead me to this site.

I hope to have the opportunity to build some kits for this campaign series. I'm thinking of building a small fleet of subs.

Just received my Mirage Grom kit.
Was surprised how large the box was for 1/400 scale.
She's larger than I thought she'd be in that scale.
I also purchased a Mirage Hobby photo-etch set for the Bazra, thinking I can us much of it for my Blyskawica build.
Since the boat still exists, much of what exists in terms of images is of her in RN western approaches color scheme so the research begins for how she appeared in 1939.
I'm trying to find out if she had the traditional depthcharge racks at her stern but the Grom kit, representing the Grom in 1940 doesn't have one.

http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=mirage+grom&qpvt=mirage+grom&FORM=IGRE#a Michael,
Not sure this helps or is what you're looking for. Scroll down to the seventh row of images and look to the right side. Not even sure if it's the Grom's stern or not, but it does show internal discharge racks of some sort.

Thanks, Arnie.
I've managed to collect a lot of images from the net of both the Grom and Blyskawica.
I've focused more on the Grom because it was sunk in 1940 and being the same class as the Blyskawica, it would reflect more closely what Blyskawica would have looked like in 1939.
Images I've collected seem to show a kind of rail system in the stern decking of both ships. I think those are for depth charges. I've seen images of the Blyskawica with conventional depthcharge racks that were probably added during one of her refits in English ports.

For those with 'The Smithsonian Channel' cable channel, I recommend this miniseries. I liked it better than the Hisoty/Military Channels' version. It's been on before but this run starts at the beginning of March.

Great work, Harv. Thanks very much.
I like the 10th and 12th ones, myself.

Another historical link that (I think) does a nice job chronicling The Battle of the years:

Gee I wish I hadn't have read that, now I have to rethink my choice of an F4F. They really didn't get into the fight until August of '41 even that's a bit to the end of this campaign's timeline.

No, you're subject is fine. Remember we broke the campaign down into sub-sections just to open more subjects up to people.
We have:
The early years: 1939-1941
Happy Time/Dark Days: 1942-1943
Fighting a Losing Battle/Winning the Battle: 1944-1945
Just declare what time frame of the Battle you're building for.

U-36, a Type IIA boat. She sank two ships before being sunk herself by a British submarine in December, 1939.

My preference is with the 12th version of the ribbon proposed.
Can the contrast be tweeked so that the crosshairs are more
visible?
That of course would render the BoA and 75th text also more visible.
Just a suggestion.
Cheers,
Joe

Oops, Typo. My bad.
This one is a Type IIA - the U-1.

And the first victim of the Battle of the Atlantic -Athenia as she goes down.

Remember we broke the campaign down into sub-sections just to open more subjects up to people.
So all 3 time periods are covered at the same time and not 3 separate campaigns...

Correct. This opens up more subjects for the campaign.

I see there is a campaign ribbon displayed on the 'campaigns' link. Looks good. That's moving things forward. Thanks and a big thumbs up to the designer.

I tried adjusting the brightness and contrast on the ribbon that you picked as the campaign ribbon and have a couple of different ones for you to look at.

Sorry that I couldn't design a better ribbon for you. I tried several different things and I just couldn't get the detail I wanted due to the small size. Thank you and you're welcome Michael and Bruce. I just wish they looked better.
Thanks,
Randy
