Hi All,

I have some very nice PE sets for the Bismarck/Tirpitz from WEM in 1:350. I worked my way through almost all of the parts, and now I wanted to start on the porthole covers. I noticed two issues

1) The sets have way less porthole covers than there are on the actual ships

2) The actual ships have most of them with the cover hinging downwards, the set has most of them hinging left/right.

Is this just me or has anyone encountered this issue?

Well Matthijs,

that's a tendency sometimes with WEM PE - they offer great stuff and all the essentials, but for 'standard parts' like portholes, cable reels, doors and hatches... you need to look beyond the kit at hand. So they offer additional portholes for around 6GBP:
'WEM 1/350 Kriegsmarine Portholes & Doors (PE 35079)'.

So no, it's not just you....

Cheers,
Jan

Hi Jan,

thanks for confirming I'll order that set you mentioned.

Cheers,

Matthijs
