Just got the USS New York today, Texas should be good just hope they correct the name, Texas not New Texas. They did the same with the 1/350 Supermarine Walrus calling it HMS Walrus.
The only concern is the top ledge of the belt armour with it being a bit too thick although it may be possible to file it down a bit.

Michael, from what I understand the New York is in Pacific fit while Texas is in a D-Day Normandy fit. I don't have much on these ships so it's based on what I've read around the web.
Looking at the Texas photos and comparing them with the New York instructions the AA fit seems to be the main difference, like I said I don't have anything on these ships in my reference library (something that will have to be changed before I start the build) so for now I can only go by Trumpeters instructions.
