Hi Mark!
A great start to a welcome return to the forum!
A rare bird this kit is of one of the "ugly sisters" since Dragon seem to have taken it out of production, so I'll be watching along with interest.
Looks like the usual 'waterline' kit fit issues so far, but nothing you didn't overcome easily.
Look forward to seeing more as things progress
Russ

Your Scharnhorst is looking great, so far. Great job.
The putty and sanding "session" looked like a lot of work. Filling and sanding such a long seam isn t easy. Had very similar problems with the Trumpeter kits.
Looking forward, to your next steps

I can't stand the flag that flew on the stern, but these ships certainly were handsome. I've never seen this kit built and I'm really enjoying watching her, (him?), come together.

Mark,
Great work and nice speed. I really like the wooden deck you used for this. It really makes this ship pop. Looking forward to seeing more progress.

Good work on all these small details, splendid build.
Scharnhorst was along with her sister a beautiful ship, this will be perfectly presented on your build !
The Dragon kit is since years on my wish list, its quite expensive,so it never hit my stash :-(
Some days ago, i digged out my Heller Gneisenau, 1/400 and glued the hull together, with some corrections and help from some aftermarket sets, i will try to build her.
May the force is with me

Great job Mark.
Really good looking build.
If mine comes out anywhere near as cool as that I will be well pleased.
Just so I am forewarned, any issues with the blast bags, they look effective, and the big guns?
Cheers.
