Hi all a tiny update really just to show I'm still on this (I know it's not great but I figure I can remove all the gold and redo it, if and when my mojo returns.

Hi Ken,
well, what can bee seen from your pictures looks really fine!! I know very well the feeling when a build stalls, or when things don't go as smooth or as nice as you want them to (or even, as they used to do before...), but that should go by! Your gold work still looks really nice and the overall impression on your pictures is great!!
Cheers,
Jan

I second what Jan says Ken: I know how it is when the mojo goes, but keep chipping away at it and you'll find it again.
Great work on the gold leafing!

Hi all here is another little update, that mast is not glued in yet just positioned to see the effect, I've seen where people do the ratlines on the upper masts before atattching the mast, to me it looks easier than having to try it whilst attached to the ship.

Good to see some progress here, Ken - I wish you luck and patience with the rigging!! I know it would not be my thing to do...
The start looks good, but that's clearly a lot of work coming up...

Quite some mass production going on here!!
I think they look quite all right, where on the ship will they go, plain sight or one or two decks below? And if on the open deck, how much rigging etc. will be over them? I don't think I would try to cover them with some not needed wooden deck - danger that the edges/bends make look it artificial seems pretty imminent to me.

Hi all well i know I've not touched this for a while, Pam just snapped the fore mast, apparently she was just getting the dog a treat (the bag with the treats in was on the table with the kit) my fault entirely, she is so upset I'm more cross she even tried to, that's what I'm here for to get stuff, trouble is she thinks because she can make it to the loo and make a cuppa she can do anything, I love her to bits and can't wait for her to get better. Anyway when I do get back on this that will be the first thing for me to takle.

Right after some good advice I may well get started back on this, I've just bought these 3 books

So hopefully after a good read the rigging won't be sooooo scarey.

Just a 5 degree swing either side of center will do.

Hi Ken,
for me it's certainly a jaunty angle, straight tends a) to be boring and, more important, b) it is really hard to get it really straight - and half a degree off tends to look irritating...
