Great guy alert. You guys might not know it but Garrybeebe and I arranged a trade last week. He was to send me a Tamiya 1/700 Indianapolis and I'd send him a Tamiya 1/35 Sherman early production. This after offering me the kit at less than half price, AND he'd pay shipping. I didn't want to take advantage of a friend so we worked out the trade instead. So I come home last night all eager to open up my new goody. I was like a kid at Christmas and tore open the box to find my new floaty thing. Nice kit, can't wait to start building it. After drooling over it for a good while I went back to the box to decide if I wanted to keep it and found a note from Garry. "Howdy Rodger. I threw in a IJN cruiser just in case we do a Pacific build one of these days! I will really never build these and I don't have much invested. Just consider it an insentive to keep building ships. LOL."

So there in the box, unseen until now, was a Tamiya 1/700 Chokai, which just happens to be my favorite IJN ship. Wonder how Garry knew?

I just wanted to give Garry a "Well Done."

Nice Guy?...Think again!

Oh sure a free cruiser here, a free Destroyer escort there. Then you find you need another. Before you know it your closet becomes less green and pamzer yellow and starts reflecting more Haze gray, Yokuska arsenal gray and , God forbid, Mountbatten pink! Back away Rodger....before it's too late.

Need more 1/700 figures...........aftermarket 40mm and anchorchain....help me #:-)

Watch out Rodger..the Japanese 1:700 scale kits get very addictive, the next thing you know, you'll have all the BB's, AC's, H/LC's, and about 10 of every destroyer kit to build the fleet cause it'll look so cool spread out over your basement floor. I did that once...lucky then the BB"S and AC's were selling for $4 a pop and the Crusiers at $2 and the DD's at $1. VMI has all that now as I gave it to them when I graduated in '76.
