Your K-Class submarine build looks great. It sure is strange to see a submarine with funnels sticking out the deck. Even though the K-Class is longer than the Trafalger class I bet she was very cramp for space compared to the Trafalger.

They were oddities Mark,

I think you are very likely right, although they had around half the crew of the Trafalgar class a 1915 vintage steam plant would be a lot bulkier, the space needed for the bunkers, the funnels, masts, aerials all collapsed and were stowed in the casing when she dived.


they were supposed to be very uncomfortable boats to serve on, not a pleasant ride on the surface in any sort of sea, poor ventilation in boiler room, lots of condensation, especially after diving from running on steam. 30 minutes to "crash dive" when running under steam propulsion, and barely enough armament to fight a destroyer.


They might have been a dangerous failure, but I do have a soft spot for these oddities.
