Hello fellows,

I just recieved TRUMPETERS brandnew german Kriegsmariene Linienschiff Schleswig-Holstein in ist 1935 outfit. I can say TRUMPETER is getting better and better in my eyes with its ship kits! I would like to build this ship in its 1939 outfit with its additional AA-guns but have no idea where to get some more informations about this constellation. Can you recommend me some references or help me out with drawings?

Thank you very much in Advance for your support!

Have you tried doing a image search on Google?

Hi Mark, sure I did and there are quite some pics but nothing usable to see some details of railing, AA-gun Emplacements and rigging...

But nevertheless thank you for your reply

Hi Thomas!

whilst not providing much info on AA fit, there's some interesting pics at martime quest

The class overview has links to images of the other 4 ships of the class.

If all else fails you could try the Bundesarchives who could be able to provide some detailed plans

Hello Russell,

thank you for your Input. These Pictures are quite some help for the rigging. I already have the locations for the 2 cm Flaks but I would like to wait for some aftermarket set. Some of the wooden floors (for the upper bridge area and the rangefinders) are omitted and there are some mistakes within the Bridge railings (Trumpeter casted all the frontal railings solid but the real ship had normal railings with canvas covers at some areas.

I got some informations from them after my request that they will release a set for the Exeter first this spring and later in the year they plan an update set for the Schleswig-Holstein. I will patiently wait for these two now

Cheers

Thomas

Maybe it's a good idea to wait it out until Eduard release their set Thomas. They usually do pretty good research

I will wait for sure as there are quite a few changes to be made. In the meantime I was successful with my search for the AA-guns location at the ship at the outbreak of WWII; there were just single 20 mm FlaK30 guns installed:

These are the frontal AA-gun positions at the signaldeck:

Here you can see the ship´s mid and aft section AA-gun positions:

Some small details which can be added are for example the ammunition tray for the aft 8,8 cm SK L/35 guns:

Cheers
