Wow! Finally got my pre-ordered Revell 1/72 U-Boat and it is HUGE!

The box was giant with amazing artwork.

I can see what people mean about the kit not being terribly complex, but it looks awesome!

To be honest, I don't know where I will even be able to put this thing it is so big. May take some time before it is started.

I think it is $45 or $49 from Squadron.

Not bad at all considering the size. It is certainly a candidate for super detailing and the PE I'm sure is soon to follow.

Check at your local hobby shops first. I bought mine locally for $44, tax included.

Is this the new one? I saw that at Hobbytown, and it looks very neat. Thanks for your time.

Roll models carries it for $42. Think I'll wait a while as I've got a full plate and very limited funds. Need to try to set aside my pennies for the Trumpeter Nimitz coming out now being pushed back to September.

It's a great looking kit! I got mine for $38.95 from HobbyLand Inc ($7.00 shipping)...

Bummer is: the upper portion of the bow is bent outward on the two hull halves...kit obviously got booted around in shipping... Hopefully some CA and clamping will take care of that...

Man, that sucker is BIG! Cannot wait to build it!!!

Havoc,
Try soaking the piece in real hot (not boiling) water for a few minutes and then clamp it to the other half. Hope this helps.

Your not wrong there mate.

Just got Phil to build me a Me262 and its quite simply amazing.

The return address on the Parcel is for a place called The Model Shop, so maybe he is still running a shop?

Thanks

Thanks, for the tip, Chief! I'll screw up the courage and then give it a try!!!

And nice build up your VIIC Mike T!!! The flood holes look great --- I assume you painted 'em and did not drill them out...? Did you run into any problems with the kit? Everyone seems to say the aft torpedo tube did not fit that well...

Nice work!!

Much Aloha,

mikeli125,
Ah right cheers for that!

I had my switch card armed and was trying to find his shop!

Phils models are beautifal! I have a Me-262 (Here is some pics: http://www.kapture-it.co.uk/show_album.php?album_id=006175)

And have just won an ebay auction for this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3193412761&category=1189&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBWN%3AIT&rd=1

DISCLAIMER: I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR THESE MODELS AS I DID NOT BUILD THEM. (Just thought I would add that as its not right to take the credit for something I didnt doo)

Always a pleasure to meet someone who knows Phil and his models!

Cya around,

Muzz
