I built the Mikasa first to get the feel of the scale before tackling this project, that project went better than I expected, so on with something more complex.

I bought the kit second hand, the Trumpeter upgrade was a surprise extra I found when I opened the box. Some of the Veteran sets are laziness on my part, I could have added scratchbuilt detail to the 4.1" mounts, 37mm guns, searchlights etc, but the Veteran parts are very nice.

Not the best fit, but nothing some filler cannot cure.
There is a slight step, a little more sanding will sort.
The Pontos set provides very nice grills for the seachests & overboard discharges. chain drilling and cutting started.
