63 years ago today, May 24th, occurred one of the most dramatic sea battles in history, the Battle of the Denmark Straight. I try to always have a moment of silence for the men of HMS HOOD that died that day. If ever a ship died in battle it was the Hood. I just hope one day we'll see a well made PLASTIC 1/350 scale model of this great ship.

The Hoods loss was part of the war. But to me and many others it was one of the worst desasters in history. Such a galant ship with so much history to be taken down in such short order, with the loss of most of her crew. What a loss.
Yes you can bet the Hoods crew is on my mind today! All those brave men gone,
along with that galant warship. I Salute them all!
With respect,
Garry

I guess the loss of the Bismarck is just around the corner. Another gallant ship that went down fighting to the bitter end.
