I have a 1/350 USS Enterprise by Trumpeter lying around. I had it for a year now. When I opened it I found that I had to replace all those aircraft supplied with it. So I bought a couple of Tamiya 1/350 aircrafts. Other than that I don't know what else is wrong or right whit this kit. I don't plan to build it anytime soon but I would like to be ready just in case. I also have a 1/350 Ticonderoga by Italeri and a 1/350 Fletcher by Tamiya. I'm also planning to get a Mushashi of the same scale.

I hope you have an abundance of time on your hands!

I'm jealous just thinking about the stack of boxes those models come in.

I think the Trumpeter is a rip off of the Tamiya. I knew about Academy and AHM versions. I've got an AHM of the Bismarck and it looks fine. I've built the Trumpeter Essex and 4 of the Tamiya battleships.....so all I can say is have fun with them.

I think it is. It looks ok. though. This will be my first carrier in 1/350 scale.

Hello,

Anything you want to know about naval and naval model subjects, look here:

Steel Navy

I do not think Trumpeter is a Tamiya rip-off. I'm not interested in anything after 1950, so I could be wrong.

For that matter, Trumpter's 1/350 is the WWII CV, while Tamiya's is the modern--two completely differnt ships!

They (Trumpeter) supplied pretty modern aircrafts on this set. Unless Prowlers and SeaKings were used in WW2.
