Does anyone know if any US company is producing a PE set for the Revell 1/72 scale U-boat?. I know WEM has a very impressive one, but between the money exchange rate, shipping and Customs tax it will be expensive to obtain.

Yes, WEM is producing PE 7203 for the U-boat. It's a two-fret set:

Now, please remember that we ship all our own photoetch post-free worldwide, so there's no shipping charge. There are also several dealers Stateside or in Canada who carry WEM photoetch (among them, Pacific Front Hobbies, Colpar Hobbies, D+B One Stop Hobby, and Northstar Hobbies), however Greatmodels.com is NOT stocking any current WEM PE; the PE they list they acquired from someone going out of business some time ago, so they do not have PE 7203.

WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That modelbrass set is a blowaway. It might be worth it for something like that, Need to look at kit and see how detailed the deck is before I'ld decde to get it though.

WEM will also be carrying the laser-cut wood deck (with resin bollards & cleats) from Nautilus Models, which should be available in a couple of weeks. This would be for later-war boats that used wood decks.

WOW-ZOW !!!!!!!!!!! Now that's something I could sink my teeth into. Think I'll wait a bit and see what all comes down the pike, got a feeling this is going to be one of those super-super kits that with all the options you can make a museum quality for a reasonable price

Ok, I just ordered the modelersbrass PE. I'll post when it gets here.
