I see Revell (Germany) has re-released the old Attack Transport kit. It's listed as 375 scale...that's close enough for me. I thought I read it was waterline though? I don't remember that as a kid, but it was 40 years ago. Next up the old Seaplane Tender USS Curtis

Wasn't the seaplane tender the USS Pine Island?

Steve, I have the re-issue kit in my "collection". I'll check, but I'm pretty sure it is a full hull kit, and according to the box, it's 1/400. Also close enough. I'm planning to do mine as the APA-228, the Rockbridge.

I also have both the re-issue of the AH-12 Haven hospital ship, a full hull kit which appears to be closer to 1/500, and the AO Mission Capistrano kit, a T2 tanker. That's in 1/400, but this is one which is a waterline kit.

OOPS! On closer inspection, you are correct. The APA kit is NOT a full hull. You can see the kingpost and a partial rudder. There is no prop, or keel, so it isn't a full hull model.

Thanks TC. I never heard anything good said about this kit, nothing real bad either. I just remembered having it as a kid, but it' won't go with my 350 scale stuff.

The seaplane tender was issued under a couple of different names, including USS Pine Island and USS Currituck.

IIRC the guns on the APAs were not very good, but you can get excellent replacements from L'Arsenal or White Ensign Models. They carry 1/400 scale guns.
