This is for the ZzZguy or anyone else that is interested in doing there own deck planking. The pictures I am about to show was modeled by Jeremy Dominique. It is the 1/350 Arizona by Banner. Jeremy has done a awesome job on this model! The bass wood decking is just beautiful. Zguy, I know you have your own idea's of how you want to deck your Bismarck. But before you do, first go to this address and check out this guys work, and ask him questions on the forum there. The guys there can realy help! Here is Jeremy's work. http://p196.ezboard.com/bmodelfleet

That must have taken forever to do, looks great though

Wonder how it would work on smaller scale ships.

Good Morning Steve!
It took Jeremy a long time to finish, of course this was his first try at planking. He took his time, and was couched along by Dan Van Gartzen the master planker and the owner of the Model Fleet. I would say he worked on the model for 2 years. But you will notice that the planking is not the only detail that he added on. Jeremy put a lot of everything into this build! Pe, white metal parts, and a lot of scratch building. This was only his second ship model he has built. The lad deserves a pat on the back well done!
Jeremy is now planking a Heller 1/400 Graf Spee, and a Geniusinau (spelling).

Cheers,

Garry

that is amazing, really inspires me to try other areas of modelling besides armor. Thanks for posting the pics.

I appreciate all the kind words guys. The reason it took so long is I had the decks completely planked and I screwed them up. I threw the ship out in the garage and started completely over. Im working on the Heller 1/400 Scharnhorst now and have the decks almost done. Ive only been working on it about a month now. After you get the hang of the planking it goes really quik.
