Nice but you won't be able to see any of it after you close up the hull. I think you wold be better off just scratching it.

A.M. fever! This is going to be the most after marketed kit in history. All to there own, but if and when I get this kit it is going to be a out of the box build. Unless I decide to scratch a few things. The A.M. companies are getting rich off this one! Not to detour modelers from building the kit the way they want. Its just that its going overboard just a bit! Is a galley next?
Sorry if I was ranting.

Garry

What's next a galley..... LOL..... I was hoping for the engine room, complete with sloshing bilge water, and sweaty, stinky snipes.....

with everyone boring out the drain holes on the side and installing that Modelbrass deck PE set, the top of the pressure hull would be visible. I'm one of those nuts who is doing that. Yesterday I got impatient to start on mine so I started drilling out the holes...at least until my moto-tool decided to croak on me. Right now I'm looking o ebay for a replacement. Sure are a lot availalble...now to get one cheap. I'll tell you that drop in aftermarket looks pretty tempting, but, maybe with a picture I can scratch it fairly easily

I've done all the openings on my uboot. You still won't see much. Scratching it will do just as well in my opinion.

Holy crap Batman. that control room kit is spectacular. I think what is eventually going to happen is a complete interior and a clear side piece to show it. I think I might eventually do that or buy a couple of the interior sections and display them next to my finished model.

All you need now for a cut away model is the conning tower, engine room, and a few more compartments. The down side to this is all the money spent on the am parts to super detail the boat. At $35-$40 a piece for the am parts, it adds up.

If you view each one as a separate kit then it's easier to deal with. I think the Conning towers are hollow inside except for a ladder mounted to the upper "deck" and the main deck as well as the watertight door between . I'm patient, I would like to see where all this ends up. W.E.M. has a torpedoe loading set so you could see the torpeo room from an open hatch. Thewe is a 1:44 scale kit that show the interior I guess someone will end up as I said earlier will finish interior and add a clear hull side.
